Another area in my room that has finally come together is the top of my second hand chest of draws. I’ve spent a while playing around with different designs, but after I snagged this cute little cup and saucer from a local charity shop for £1.50 I was inspired to finally finish on a design for the time being.I went for a soft, shabby chic area to make use of some of my more ‘girlie’ decor. The photo frame on the left came from TK Maxx about five years ago! TK Maxx now have an amazing home store called Homesense, and if you have one near you you need to go and check it out. The first time I went in I had a bit of a meltdown, and they have an amazing variety of products ranging from bargains to more luxurious pieces.
The bird bottle was one of the items I bought during the Room For Improvement challenge by MoneySupermarket I took part in during June. The photo frame on the right came from a local shop, while the silver elephant was another Store TwentyOne find.
As with my Memory Surface, I’m still not quite happy with it. I feel like everything is a bit spaced out, but I don’t want the top to feel too cluttered as the chest of draws is nestled in the slant of the roof, which is very low (80 cm high at it’s lowest point, yep, I said low!) I’ll be heading to Pinterest to look for more inspiration, but if you have any ideas I’d love to hear from you!
I’m currently on a trip and not in the country, so apologies if I don’t reply for a little while. Don’t worry, I have more posts scheduled, so keep checking back!
